Diego Benarrivo came out and tried to block the shot, but Edmondo Antonelli slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 12th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Acos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmondo Antonelli came free, but Diego Benarrivo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20th minute, Edmondo Romagnoli made a precise shot to the right of Fabio Di Palma. F.C. Barcellona's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Fabio Di Palma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Lucchetti in the 29th minute of play. Eugenio Grassi's late challenge caught a F.C. Barcellona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eugenio Grassi helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of F.C. Barcellona booed when Acos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugenio Grassi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Acos FC's goalkeeper Diego Benarrivo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christian Mauro. F.C. Barcellona's Fabio Di Palma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franco Lucchetti in the 36th minute of play. Edmondo Romagnoli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Fabio Di Palma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, F.C. Barcellona's goal looked a bit too open when Franco Lucchetti came free, but Fabio Di Palma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmondo Romagnoli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Franco Lucchetti made a kick off. A collision led to F.C. Barcellona getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Domenico Foni hit a great ball. In the 52nd minute, Felice Di Nardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmondo Romagnoli got free with Fabio Di Palma in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th match minute, Acos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felice Di Nardo to maneuver through the defense. When the match clock showed 63 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Franco Lucchetti sped through F.C. Barcellona's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fabio Di Palma. After a rather tough play, F.C. Barcellona's Ercole Teodori got a free kick in the 65th minute. Diego Benarrivo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Mauro in the 70th minute of the match. Edmondo Romagnoli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Fabio Di Palma made a huge save. If Franco Lucchetti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 91 played minutes F.C. Barcellona got a freekick which was hit by Comunardo Di Prinzio. Edmondo Romagnoli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Di Palma having to interfere.
