Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Felice Roberto came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Atletico Romeiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felice Roberto couldn't finish the play. Edmondo Marongiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Francesco Franco having to make a save. Francesco Franco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmondo Marongiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Francesco Franco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felice Roberto in the 17th minute of play. Fabrizio Galdi hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmondo Marongiu in the 28th minute of play forced Piero FC's goalkeeper Francesco Franco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, Edmondo Marongiu made a precise shot to the right of Francesco Franco. Piero FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Biagio Vitelli blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ermanno Giacchetti having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Achille Baruffa during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th match minute, Atletico Romeiro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Achille Baruffa to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Piero FC's Damiano Formaggio in action when he in the 42nd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Daniele Lauria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ermanno Giacchetti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Arturo Petrella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The attack was good, but when Daniele Lauria in the 47th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arturo Petrella was the one to do the kick off. Francesco Franco was a little too slow when Felice Roberto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-2. Ermanno Giacchetti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Biagio Vitelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Felice Roberto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Francesco Franco. That made the score 0-3 in the 62 minute of play. With a little luck, Piero FC's Francesco Franco got control of the ball when Edmondo Marongiu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Damiano Formaggio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ermanno Giacchetti was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Achille Baruffa kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Ermanno Giacchetti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Petrella in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the match, Piero FC's Damiano Formaggio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ermanno Giacchetti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 74 minutes into the game, Daniele Lauria cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Ermanno Giacchetti was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Damiano Formaggio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francesco Franco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Achille Baruffa in the 80th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Piero FC's Bruno Taccone got a free kick in the 80th minute. 83 minutes into the match, Piero FC's goal looked a bit too open when Felice Roberto came free, but Francesco Franco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Piero FC booed when Atletico Romeiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felice Roberto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atletico Romeiro's Edmondo Marongiu got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Piero FC's zone, Achille Baruffa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francesco Franco came out of the goal and Achille Baruffa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Biagio Vitelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermanno Giacchetti having to interfere. Atletico Romeiro were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Piero FC's much stronger midfield.
