Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Cristiano Biagetti got the match started through his kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Fabiano Valeri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Modena's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabiano Valeri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Comunardo Gerola breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Biagetti in the 5th minute of play forced San Nicolo's goalkeeper Comunardo Gerola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Modena booed when San Nicolo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Di Iulio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 10 played minutes Modena got a freekick which was hit by Dario Monaco. Fabiano Valeri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Comunardo Gerola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fedele Pietrini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ciro Marzulli's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Biagetti in the 26th minute of play forced San Nicolo's goalkeeper Comunardo Gerola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. San Nicolo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Cristiano Biagetti scored to the left of an out of position Comunardo Gerola, making the score, 2-0. In the 33rd minute, Ciro Marzulli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fedele Pietrini was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 37 minutes into the game, Alvaro Di Iulio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Nicolo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Modena the free kick. In the 37th minute, Alvaro Di Iulio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute Cristiano Biagetti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Comunardo Gerola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Fabiano Valeri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ciro Marzulli was the one to do the kick off. Comunardo Gerola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabiano Valeri in the 57th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Modena's zone, Ciro Marzulli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fedele Pietrini came out of the goal and Ciro Marzulli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Comunardo Gerola didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristiano Biagetti went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Fabiano Valeri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to San Nicolo getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Andrea Barberio hit a great ball. In the 78th minute, Ciro Marzulli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79thth minute of the game Cristiano Biagetti who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Nicolo's Comunardo Gerola was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 81 minutes into the match, San Nicolo's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Trasatti came free, but Comunardo Gerola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Comunardo Gerola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Biagetti, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Modena's Fedele Pietrini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Marzulli in the 87th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Biagetti in the 96th minute of play forced San Nicolo's goalkeeper Comunardo Gerola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
