Dario Alfieri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Concetto Santilli went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Aurelio Rozzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damiano Cera in the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beppe Bizzarri in the 30th minute of play forced Marola FC's goalkeeper Dario Alfieri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Marola FC booed when Begaro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fedele Ciolli didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Begaro FC's zone, Damiano Cera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Rozzi came out of the goal and Damiano Cera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Franco Del Monaco in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aurelio Rozzi saved Begaro FC from getting behind. After having played for 86 minutes, Ferdinando Pollastrini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Begaro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferdinando Pollastrini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Marola FC's goal looked a bit too open when Concetto Santilli came free, but Dario Alfieri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Begaro FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
