The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match Antonello De Francesco sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Filippo Cameli skillfully saved the ball. Francesco Arioli charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Anguillara's goal looked a bit too open when Achille Ferraro came free, but Filippo Cameli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 20thth minute of the game Alberigo Bracco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Anguillara's Filippo Cameli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 21 minutes into the match, BAPE's Alberigo Bracco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Filippo Cameli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Filippo Cameli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eraldo Biscotti, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 23rd match minute, Anguillara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francesco Arioli to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Anguillara's goalkeeper Filippo Cameli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Enrico Pasinati made the kick off in the second half. Eraldo Biscotti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Filippo Cameli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frank Maranzano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrico Pasinati, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Corrado Arpaia charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of BAPE booed when Anguillara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corrado Arpaia didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Eraldo Biscotti came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the BAPE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eraldo Biscotti couldn't finish the play. If Enrico Pasinati had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Bianco Ciolli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frank Maranzano was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Alberigo Bracco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Filippo Cameli made a huge save. The supporters of Anguillara booed when BAPE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonello Valcareggi didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrico Pasinati in the 89th minute of play forced BAPE's goalkeeper Frank Maranzano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armin Tabacco charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armin Tabacco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 90th minute, Armin Tabacco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Filippo Cameli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eraldo Biscotti in the 93rd minute of the match. The BAPE supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing BAPE would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
