The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cosimo Gaspari came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by closing account's Concetto Costantini. But to his dismay, Concetto Costantini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a little luck, closing account's Anselmo Curti got control of the ball when Alessandro Marongiu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alessandro Marongiu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anselmo Curti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Anselmo Curti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennis Piccini in the 23rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, closing account's Cristoforo Sciarretta got a free kick in the 26th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Alessandro Marongiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Federico Parco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cosimo Gaspari having to interfere. When Dennis Piccini got free in front of the goal in the 35th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Anselmo Curti was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Anselmo Curti made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Alessandro Marongiu sent off a good shot on target. Anselmo Curti came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Confienza's Dennis Piccini. But to his dismay, Dennis Piccini quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Alessandro Marongiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The wind increased when Dennis Piccini made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Marongiu in the 55th minute of play forced closing account's goalkeeper Anselmo Curti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dennis Piccini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Anselmo Curti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Alessandro Marongiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Confienza's supporters rose to their feet, but Alessandro Marongiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anselmo Curti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Alessandro Marongiu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Curti was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Dennis Piccini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anselmo Curti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Confienza's Dennis Piccini got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Federico Parco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alessandro Marongiu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 76 minutes of play, Confienza's Emanuele Barone made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anselmo Curti was left in no man's land by his defense there! closing account's Federico Parco suffered a concussion in the 80th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. In a very dangerous position, a player in Confienza fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! In the 84th minute there was a penalty for closing account. Cristoforo Sciarretta stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cosimo Gaspari. 3-2. Anselmo Curti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessandro Marongiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Alessandro Marongiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Confienza's supporters rose to their feet, but Alessandro Marongiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anselmo Curti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Confienza's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
