The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Andrea De Matteis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 8 minutes into the game, Federico Parco lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Eraldo Ceresoli. 16 minutes into the game, Carlo Grossi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Voghiera's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave closing account the free kick. A collision led to Voghiera getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Carlo Grossi hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Federico Parco could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Eraldo Ceresoli however easily saved by the left post. Concetto Costantini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eraldo Ceresoli having to interfere. In the 28th minute Andrea De Matteis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Curti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of closing account booed when Voghiera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Pascucci didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrea De Matteis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Anselmo Curti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrea De Matteis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Ciccio Coscarella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 49th minute of the match Corrado Falasca sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anselmo Curti skillfully saved the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

closing account's Anselmo Curti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrea De Matteis in the 56th minute of play. closing account's Concetto Costantini got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Federico Parco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Eraldo Ceresoli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anselmo Curti made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Andrea De Matteis sent off a good shot on target. In the 82nd minute Concetto Costantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eraldo Ceresoli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in closing account's zone, Diego Campana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Curti came out of the goal and Diego Campana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anselmo Curti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrea De Matteis in the 90th minute of play.
