The referee ignored Ritortolo AFC's protests and gave Fulvio Nobili a yellow card for diving instead. After 9 played minutes Ritortolo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Fulvio Nobili. With an all-out effort, Verona's Anthony Di Mario threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fabiano Atroce, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The crowd rose to their feet as Dennis La Marca kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Anthony Di Mario. That made the score 2-0 in the 18 minute of play. Dennis La Marca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dennis La Marca in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anthony Di Mario saved Ritortolo AFC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Ritortolo AFC's Fulvio Nobili got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After a rather tough play, Verona's Ercole Sammartano got a free kick in the 26th minute. Eugenio Ruggeri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. In the 38th minute, Fabiano Atroce fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Anthony Di Mario, passed just outside the right post. In the 40th minute Verona were awarded a corner. Alfonso Troiani went to the cornerflag to take it. Fabiano Atroce was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 42 minutes into the match, Fabiano Atroce had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anthony Di Mario. Ritortolo AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabiano Atroce was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabiano Atroce made a kick off. When the match clock showed 51 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Dennis La Marca sped through Ritortolo AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Anthony Di Mario. If Fabiano Atroce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dennis La Marca struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Anthony Di Mario didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verona. In the 70th minute, Fausto Novella made a precise shot to the right of Anthony Di Mario. Ritortolo AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. In the 74th minute, Ciccio Raimondi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugenio Ruggeri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edoardo Rotondi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Dennis La Marca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Verona's supporters rose to their feet, but Dennis La Marca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anthony Di Mario breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amos Madaio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anthony Di Mario having to make a save. Fausto Novella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
