Cristiano Pennetta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felice Braccia having to make a save. After having played for 15 minutes, Alex Orsini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ercolano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alex Orsini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 16th minute by Ennio Bozzelli got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Mortise AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ercolano:s goal. Felice Braccia came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Mortise AFC's Cristiano Pennetta. But to his dismay, Cristiano Pennetta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When Mortise AFC's Cristiano Pennetta in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ercolano's goalie prevented a goal. Corrado Valente made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Ennio Bozzelli sent off a good shot on target. 44 minutes into the game, Mortise AFC's Franco Matteucci nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Felice Braccia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A very good chance. 95 minutes into the match, Ercolano's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Pennetta came free, but Felice Braccia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
