After 7 minutes of play, San Carlo's Ciro Zisser made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabiano Della Francesca was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Ciro Zisser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Biagio Rossetti in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edoardo Tabacchi saved San Carlo from getting behind. Edmondo Restaino struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Edoardo Tabacchi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Portofino FC. When Carlo Proietti fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Carlo's protests and gave Carlo Proietti a yellow card for diving instead. Edoardo Tabacchi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Biagio Rossetti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aldo Malatesta in the 27th minute of play forced Portofino FC's goalkeeper Fabiano Della Francesca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes in the game, Aldo Malatesta fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fabiano Della Francesca having to interfere. Ciro Zisser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Della Francesca having to interfere. Aldo Malatesta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aldo Malatesta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabiano Della Francesca came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by San Carlo's Aldo Malatesta. But to his dismay, Aldo Malatesta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Fabiano Della Francesca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Malatesta in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Edmondo Restaino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Portofino FC's zone, Ciro Zisser stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabiano Della Francesca came out of the goal and Ciro Zisser tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 74 minutes into the game, San Carlo's Aldo Malatesta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fabiano Della Francesca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Ciro Zisser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Della Francesca having to interfere. 82 minutes into the game, Enrico Festa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Carlo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portofino FC the free kick. In the 82nd match minute, San Carlo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrico Festa to maneuver through the defense. Emilio Filippini hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Alberto Costantino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Edoardo Tabacchi made a huge save. Enrico Festa got his second yellow card in the match during the 86th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, San Carlo's Enrico Festa got a free kick in the 87th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Biagio Rossetti got free with Edoardo Tabacchi in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Portofino FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Edmondo Restaino hit a great ball. San Carlo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
