MOLFETTA's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelio Armellini came free, but Fortunato Piacentini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 12 minutes, Donato Muzi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A.S. MOLFETTA and the Leini players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 12 played minutes A.S. MOLFETTA got a freekick which was hit by Donato Muzi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Armellini in the 15th minute of play forced A.S. MOLFETTA's goalkeeper Fortunato Piacentini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Concetto Schirru charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Concetto Schirru the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Leini getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Concetto Schirru hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, A.S. MOLFETTA's Abdul Aziz van de Meerakker got a free kick in the 38th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elia Romanese in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fortunato Piacentini prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 41 minutes, Mikkel Frøseth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A.S. MOLFETTA and the Leini players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mikkel Frøseth hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Ciro Petrini took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fortunato Piacentini. A.S. MOLFETTA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A.S. MOLFETTA's Fortunato Piacentini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Armellini in the 44th minute of play. Fortunato Piacentini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Armellini, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Fortunato Piacentini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elia Romanese in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aurelio Armellini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Leini's goalkeeper Donato Pagliuca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bianco Giusto kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. A.S. MOLFETTA's Fortunato Piacentini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save A.S. MOLFETTA from getting a goal against them. In the 62ndth minute of the game Aurelio Armellini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A.S. MOLFETTA's Fortunato Piacentini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 76th minute Abdul Aziz van de Meerakker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Pagliuca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, A.S. MOLFETTA's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelio Armellini came free, but Fortunato Piacentini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Fortunato Piacentini managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Leini's Elia Romanese fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 80th minute, Federico Cirelli left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A.S. MOLFETTA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Elia Romanese came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Leini fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elia Romanese couldn't finish the play. In the 93rd minute, Aurelio Armellini fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Fortunato Piacentini acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 94th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Concetto Schirru.
