After 15 minutes, Augusto Tristezza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Giussano AFC and the Pieve Di Cesato players grew even worse after the yellow card. Augusto Zacchia was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 17th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 19th minute Bernardo Zarrella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eraldo Palladino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Giussano AFC's goalkeeper Eraldo Palladino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 27th match minute, Pieve Di Cesato was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amerigo Antonelli to maneuver through the defense. Augusto Zacchia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 30 minutes into the match. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pieve Di Cesato! The referee gave Giussano AFC a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. Elia Bellucci ran back to his position shaking his head. Ermanno Sabatino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Enrico Florio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elia Bellucci to make the kick off. During the 55th minute of the match Augusto Tristezza completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Augusto Tristezza a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Augusto Tristezza kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Giussano AFC's Ermanno Sabatino got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pieve Di Cesato's Enrico Florio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermanno Sabatino in the 76th minute of play. Enrico Florio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermanno Sabatino in the 79th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ermanno Sabatino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrico Florio was relentless in the 81st minute of the game.
