Damiano Tocchetto started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Armin Punta during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Armin Punta hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Cristiano Monaco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Iacomini having to interfere. Donato Giordano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Alfonso Iacomini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of puteolana FC booed when Boratella was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Rossini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damiano Tocchetto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristiano Monaco struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Alfonso Iacomini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boratella. Cristiano Monaco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfonso Iacomini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. After 26 played minutes puteolana FC got a freekick which was hit by Armin Punta. After some careless play in the puteolana FC defense, Donato Giordano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfonso Iacomini. The puteolana FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfonso Iacomini should have stopped the shot. After 36 minutes, Ciccio Morandin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the puteolana FC and the Boratella players grew even worse after the yellow card. 39 minutes into the match, puteolana FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Monaco came free, but Alfonso Iacomini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the puteolana FC defense, Donato Giordano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfonso Iacomini. The puteolana FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfonso Iacomini should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Cristiano Monaco made the kick off in the second half. Cristiano Monaco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Iacomini having to interfere. Daniele Bellone came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by puteolana FC's Frank Tocci. But to his dismay, Frank Tocci quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Cristiano Monaco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Alfonso Iacomini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frank Tocci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. puteolana FC's Damiano Tocchetto got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Donato Giordano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Alfonso Iacomini made a huge save. If Donato Giordano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, puteolana FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Monaco came free, but Alfonso Iacomini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 92 minutes, Antonello Facchini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boratella and the puteolana FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 92 played minutes Boratella got a freekick which was hit by Antonello Facchini. After a defensive mix-up in Boratella's zone, Damiano Tocchetto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniele Bellone came out of the goal and Damiano Tocchetto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Boratella's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
