The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Damiano Vani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. The supporters of Pernate AFC booed when San Desiderio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Gaudino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Damiano Vani managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Desiderio FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Damiano Vani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edmondo Chioda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosimo Pierucci in the 32nd minute of play forced San Desiderio FC's goalkeeper Fortunato Cala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Emanuele Laurenti made a precise shot to the right of Edmondo Chioda. Pernate AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Edmondo Chioda was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Damiano Vani capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Damiano Vani really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. After 85 played minutes Pernate AFC got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Pugliese. In the 88th minute San Desiderio FC were awarded a corner. Enzo Damiani went to the cornerflag to take it. Aldo Gaudino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. San Desiderio FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
