The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Comunardo Marinetti during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Comunardo Marinetti kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Ceranesi FC's Edmondo De Bonis tried to score from far away in the 5th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of Ceranesi FC booed when Sasso Marconi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniele Felice didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruno Albertini's late challenge caught a Ceranesi FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Albertini helped the player get up and apologised. After 8 played minutes Sasso Marconi FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Albertini. Carlo Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Davide Malvezzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sasso Marconi FC's Comunardo Marinetti got his second yellow card of the match in the 14th minute. The referee ordered Comunardo Marinetti off the ground. Bruno Albertini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Fulvio Rosa made a huge save. Fulvio Rosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dino Bearzot in the 22nd minute. Alberto Guerrieri kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Bruno Albertini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, Ceranesi FC's Ettore Giusto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Davide Malvezzi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ceranesi FC's Fulvio Rosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Ceranesi FC from getting a goal against them. Carlo Donato's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Davide Malvezzi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Ettore Giusto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Davide Malvezzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Camillo Coscarella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlo Donato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Davide Malvezzi having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlo Donato stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Daniele Felice received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Fulvio Rosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Carlo Donato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 60 minutes of play, Ceranesi FC's Ettore Giusto made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Davide Malvezzi was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Carlo Donato came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Ceranesi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlo Donato couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlo Donato in the 69th minute of play forced Sasso Marconi FC's goalkeeper Davide Malvezzi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlo Donato in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Davide Malvezzi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpected shot in the 72nd minute by Ettore Giusto got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Davide Malvezzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlo Donato, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Bruno Albertini might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fulvio Rosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bruno Albertini ran back to his position shaking his head. Ettore Giusto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Davide Malvezzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Bruno Albertini made a precise shot to the right of Fulvio Rosa. Ceranesi FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
