Armin Cerri blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alvaro Fabiani having to make a save. Emilio Cirigliano's late challenge caught a Hellas Verona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emilio Cirigliano helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, MAD's Emilio Cirigliano got a free kick in the 18th minute. Alfonso Frezza took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Franco Muzi. Franco Muzi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfonso Frezza got free with Franco Muzi in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, MAD's Anthony Mascitti got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 81st minute, Comunardo Vanni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 83 minutes into the match, MAD's Damiano Mameli broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide.
