The referee gave Piccarello a penalty, 17 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Diego Santalucia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hellas Verona's Franco Muzi. 0-2. Franco Muzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrico Marrone in the 43rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anthony Fantozzi during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
