Eugenio Santones short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Cosimo Capasso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Atletico Giarre 2oo9 getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Dave Giampieri hit a great ball. Eugenio Di Biagio charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eugenio Di Biagio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th match minute, Atletico Giarre 2oo9 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eugenio Di Biagio to maneuver through the defense. In the 18th match minute, Atletico Giarre 2oo9 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Giampieri to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Atletico Giarre 2oo9's goal looked a bit too open when Amerigo Martinelli came free, but Cosimo Capasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amerigo Martinelli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cosimo Capasso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Davide De Grandis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cosimo Capasso. Atletico Giarre 2oo9's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Damiano Spiazzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Amerigo Corvi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Amerigo Martinelli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Focomorto FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Amerigo Martinelli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cosimo Capasso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cosimo Capasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amerigo Martinelli in the 46th minute of the match. A collision led to Atletico Giarre 2oo9 getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Eugenio Di Biagio hit a great ball. Eugenio Santone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Damiano Spiazzi was the one to do the kick off. Cosimo Capasso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amerigo Martinelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Eugenio Santone's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cosimo Capasso was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Amerigo Martinelli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 61st play minutes Amerigo Martinelli shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Cosimo Capasso and just under the crossbar into goal. Amerigo Martinelli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabiano Caporale during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 84 played minutes Focomorto FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabiano Caporale. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Focomorto FC's goalkeeper Amerigo Corvi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Focomorto FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Corrado Marcucci hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Damiano Spiazzi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amerigo Corvi. That made the score 1-1 in the 89 minute of play. Atletico Giarre 2oo9 succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Focomorto FC had controlled the match.
