Bianco Dionisi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Ferdinando Di Croce got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 15 minutes, Franco Improta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pieve Vecchia FC and the Villa Verucchio players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 15 played minutes Pieve Vecchia FC got a freekick which was hit by Franco Improta. Alvise Monticelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Baresi having to interfere. Amos Di Febo hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 23rd match minute, Villa Verucchio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Di Matteo to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Villa Verucchio's Ettore Colaneri slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fabiano Baresi. That made the score 1-0 after 25 minutes of play. In the 28thth minute of the game Ettore Colaneri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pieve Vecchia FC's Fabiano Baresi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ferdinando Di Croce took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Frank Fantozzi. Frank Fantozzi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 42nd minute Alessandro Mei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Fantozzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ferdinando Di Croce scored 2-2 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Frank Fantozzi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ferdinando Di Croce to strike the kick off in the second half.
