In the 2nd match minute, Casier AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amedeo Sabatini to maneuver through the defense. Francesco Toppi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Cruciani, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antonello Macchia in the 7th minute of play forced Modolena's goalkeeper Fulvio Tarantini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alvaro Ferrario fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulvio Tarantini having to interfere. Fulvio Tarantini came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Casier AFC's Alvaro Ferrario. But to his dismay, Alvaro Ferrario quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Alfonso Cruciani came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Modolena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso Cruciani couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Modolena's zone, Antonello Macchia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fulvio Tarantini came out of the goal and Antonello Macchia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florian Luzi during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th minute, Florian Luzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Enrico Cerri's late challenge caught a Casier AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Enrico Cerri helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Casier AFC booed when Modolena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francesco Toppi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Di Gaetano in the 84th minute of play. Fausto Tiberio kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
