Ciurros FC's Emilio Bontempi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amos Iovine in the 6th minute of play. When Ciurros FC's Alberigo Colelli in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Portofino's goalie prevented a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Amos Iovine kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Emilio Bontempi. That made the score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. In the 26th minute, Dave Di Rado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute, Frank De Marchi sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ciurros FC's Emilio Bontempi didn't even have to move. Fabrizio Primavera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alberto Malandra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Francesco Contestabile tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberigo Colelli kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Francesco Contestabile showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Malandra, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 36th match minute, Ciurros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Di Rado to maneuver through the defense. Fabrizio Primavera took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Emilio Bontempi. Emilio Bontempi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The supporters of Portofino booed when Ciurros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Di Rado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute, Amos Iovine got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Fabrizio Primavera charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabrizio Primavera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Amos Iovine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
