Davide Pavia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Inter Milan booed when Pionca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonso Campo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inter Milan's Carter Franceschini got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Davide Pavia was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 46th minute. Inter Milan's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Davide Pavia to strike the kick off in the second half. Carter Franceschini charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carter Franceschini the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Inter Milan's Carter Franceschini got a free kick in the 74th minute. Davide Pavia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Amos Ciarrocchi fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Amos Ciarrocchi hit a great ball. After 82 played minutes, Inter Milan's Bruno Apicella shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fabio Pantani came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Inter Milan reached it. In the 86thth minute of the game Carter Franceschini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pionca FC's Fabio Pantani was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Inter Milan's Ernesto Iannucci tried to score from far away in the 88th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute, Concetto Schirone fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ermanno Pietrangelo, passed just outside the right post. 95 minutes into the match, Davide Pavia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fabio Pantani. Pionca FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Davide Pavia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0.
