The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ermanno Falasca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano Benedetti, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chiappino FC's goalkeeper Ermanno Falasca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pittolo FC! Alvaro Rosati came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Christian Colle could save by the left post. If Damiano Riso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 22 minutes into the game, Chiappino FC's Alvaro Rosati nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Colle made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Pittolo FC's attack was well implemented in the 29th minute, but when Donato Nero was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. After having played for 35 minutes, Donato Nero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pittolo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donato Nero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Aldo Leone fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chiappino FC's protests and gave Aldo Leone a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Aldo Leone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Chiappino FC's zone, Donato Nero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ermanno Falasca came out of the goal and Donato Nero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donato Nero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ermanno Falasca having to interfere. Alvaro Rosati sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute Damiano Riso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Colle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Chiappino FC booed when Pittolo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugenio Giolo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermanno Falasca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pittolo FC. Pittolo FC's Christian Colle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Rosati in the 83rd minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Christian Pellicciotta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Christian Colle quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Donato Nero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ermanno Falasca read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. After 93 played minutes Chiappino FC got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Leone.
