Arturo Piccinini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armin Gazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberigo Signori kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciccio Verdone got free with Gualter Prado in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arturo Piccinini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armin Gazza in the 11th minute of play. Gualter Prado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fulvio Collovati in the 12th minute of the match. The supporters of C.C.Aniene 1892 booed when Vetrego was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Biagio Di Carlo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Comunardo Santini in the 16th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Gualter Prado kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-1 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Ciccio Verdone succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 26th playminute. With his leg Gualter Prado managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Vetrego's Ciccio Verdone fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 2-2 became the score in the 31st minute when Armin Gazza elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Gualter Prado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Comunardo Santini in the 35th minute of play. The audience was convinced that István Erdôs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arturo Piccinini was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. When Biagio Di Carlo fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vetrego's protests and gave Biagio Di Carlo a yellow card for diving instead. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Comunardo Santini was the one to do the kick off. Vetrego's Arturo Piccinini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armin Gazza in the 82nd minute of play. After 85 minutes of play, Vetrego's Comunardo Santini made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gualter Prado was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice moves István Erdôs could shoot a difficult shot in the 88th minute, which Arturo Piccinini however easily saved by the left post. In the 93rd minute Comunardo Santini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualter Prado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The C.C.Aniene 1892 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
