The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Malcontenta's Carlo Ruzzi got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eraldo Del Grosso who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Fulvio Frezza when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlo Ruzzi in the 10th minute of play forced Casal Borsetti AFC's goalkeeper Fulvio Frezza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th play minute Eraldo Del Grosso came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fulvio Frezza. 1-0. In the 24th minute, Andrea Festa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Antonio Iannotti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Antonio Iannotti left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Casal Borsetti AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 34th minute Antonio Iannotti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Di Lullo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arturo Martano hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Malcontenta's Christian Casale broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 47th minute of the match Alfredo Cicchinelli sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francesco Di Lullo skillfully saved the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlo Ruzzi to make the kick off. 61 minutes into the match, Malcontenta's goalkeeper Francesco Di Lullo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andrea Festa. Antonio Iannotti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Francesco Di Lullo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Malcontenta's Francesco Di Lullo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Malcontenta from getting a goal against them. In the 68th minute Antonio Iannotti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francesco Di Lullo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrea Festa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francesco Di Lullo having to interfere. After having played for 76 minutes, Antonio Iannotti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Casal Borsetti AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antonio Iannotti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andrea Festa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Casal Borsetti AFC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Carter Panino hit a great ball. 85 minutes into the match, Casal Borsetti AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlo Ruzzi came free, but Fulvio Frezza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eraldo Del Grosso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulvio Frezza having to interfere. Andrea Festa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Francesco Di Lullo made a huge save. Antonio Iannotti was extremely unlucky when he, in the 90th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Malcontenta's Francesco Di Lullo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Malcontenta from getting a goal against them. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Casal Borsetti AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
