In the 5th minute, Dario Contestabile hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Filippo De Lellis was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 6th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Eraldo Zisser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elia Troilo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edoardo Bonsignore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frank Albertini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fulvio Piacentini acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 35th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Filippo De Lellis. A collision led to Lions getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Dario Contestabile hit a great ball. Eraldo Zisser might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fulvio Piacentini. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eraldo Zisser ran back to his position shaking his head. Lions's Fulvio Piacentini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Lions from getting a goal against them. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 53 played minutes Lions got a freekick which was hit by Dario Contestabile. After a rather tough play, Lions's Edoardo Bonsignore got a free kick in the 60th minute. Eraldo Zisser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Albertini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Fulvio Piacentini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eraldo Zisser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulvio Piacentini having to interfere. Frank Albertini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Fulvio Piacentini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dario Contestabile's late challenge caught a Falcognana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dario Contestabile helped the player get up and apologised. After 74 played minutes Lions got a freekick which was hit by Dario Contestabile. Frank Albertini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulvio Piacentini having to interfere. In the 82nd minute Frank Albertini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulvio Piacentini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Falcognana's Elia Troilo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Falcognana from getting a goal against them. If Alessio Vinci had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Falcognana's Eraldo Zisser got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
