Comunardo Sacchi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antonello De Cesaris's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. With a little luck, Bastiglia AFC's Frank Fioravanti got control of the ball when Dave Oberrauch tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alberigo Tabacchi's late challenge caught a A.C.Milan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alberigo Tabacchi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th match minute, Bastiglia AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberigo Tabacchi to maneuver through the defense. Dino Aversa was shown his second yellow card after 35 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Dave Oberrauch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Fioravanti having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The A.C.Milan fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bastiglia AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
