Piovega's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zigo Zago the free kick. But to his dismay, Olaf Biegun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 17th minute Ernesto Di Tullio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Corrado Lizzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Fedele De Fina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Piovega's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zigo Zago the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Piovega's zone, Augusto Arcangeli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Corrado Lizzi came out of the goal and Augusto Arcangeli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olaf Biegun in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eugenio Polidori saved Zigo Zago from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Olaf Biegun's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugenio Polidori was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. 34 minutes into the game, Olaf Biegun cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Eugenio Polidori was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Corrado Lizzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Di Tullio in the 74th minute of the match.
