The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Settimello's goal looked a bit too open when Daniele Salemme came free, but Ciccio Silvagni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8th minute, Daniele Salemme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ciccio Silvagni was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ciccio Silvagni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniele Salemme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Cortile booed when Settimello was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrea Bianco didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ciccio Silvagni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27th match minute, Settimello was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciccio Santo to maneuver through the defense. In the 28thth minute of the game Attilio Cardano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Settimello's Ciccio Silvagni was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Francesco Treglia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cortile's Fabrizio Bomba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Biagio Manzo in the 32nd minute of play. Ciccio Silvagni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Melis in the 35th minute of play. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Settimello! The referee gave Cortile a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Amedeo Michelini, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Settimello's Ciccio Silvagni. 0-2. Anselmo Torelli hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Francesco Treglia received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fabrizio Bomba came out and tried to block the shot, but Francesco Treglia slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 44th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Biagio Manzo to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Attilio Cardano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cortile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Attilio Cardano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ernesto Melis during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 55th match minute, Cortile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Moretti to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the match, Settimello's goalkeeper Ciccio Silvagni had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Attilio Cardano. After a defensive mix-up in Settimello's zone, Attilio Cardano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciccio Silvagni came out of the goal and Attilio Cardano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute, Francesco Treglia made a precise shot to the right of Fabrizio Bomba. Cortile's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. After 70 played minutes Settimello got a freekick which was hit by Andrea Bianco. After having played for 73 minutes, Attilio Cardano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cortile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Attilio Cardano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th match minute, Cortile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amedeo Michelini to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Daniele Salemme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. During the 82nd minute of the match Ernesto Melis completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ernesto Melis a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ciccio Silvagni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Attilio Cardano in the 86th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Andrea Bianco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Settimello's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cortile the free kick. After 87 played minutes Settimello got a freekick which was hit by Andrea Bianco. Attilio Cardano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Ciccio Silvagni made a huge save. With a little luck, Settimello's Ciccio Silvagni got control of the ball when Attilio Cardano tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Cortile left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Settimello.
