Damiano Pagliuca kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Alfredo Cirelli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlo Fallito. Velester's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfredo Cirelli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Amedeo Fortuna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amedeo Fortuna might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ennio Scafati. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amedeo Fortuna ran back to his position shaking his head. If Alfredo Cirelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, Ferruccio Novella was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Velester's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Borgo Podgora the free kick. Ferruccio Novella hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Alfredo Cirelli struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Carlo Fallito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borgo Podgora. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amedeo Fortuna got free with Ennio Scafati in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alfredo Cirelli hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Alfredo Cirelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Carlo Fallito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredo Zinni to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfredo Zinni in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ennio Scafati prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amedeo Fortuna in the 55th minute of play forced Borgo Podgora's goalkeeper Ennio Scafati to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amedeo Fortuna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ennio Scafati having to interfere. When Velester's Alfredo Zinni in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Borgo Podgora's goalie prevented a goal. Ennio Scafati came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Velester's Amedeo Fortuna. But to his dismay, Amedeo Fortuna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. With a little luck, Velester's Carlo Fallito got control of the ball when Damiano Pagliuca tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Borgo Podgora's goalkeeper Ennio Scafati, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Borgo Podgora getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Cristoforo Zoccolo hit a great ball. Damiano Pagliuca blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlo Fallito having to make a save. The supporters of Borgo Podgora booed when Velester was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camillo Oriali didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Velester's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Cirelli came free, but Carlo Fallito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Borgo Podgora were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after Velester's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Claudio Alba took the corner. Borgo Podgora's Claudio Alba was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Carlo Fallito in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Borgo Podgora's Cristoforo Zoccolo got his second yellow card of the match in the 87th minute. The referee ordered Cristoforo Zoccolo off the ground. After a rather tough play, Borgo Podgora's Cristoforo Zoccolo got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 93rd minute Amedeo Fortuna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ennio Scafati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
