Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ciccio Antognoni started the match with the kick off. Alberto Orecchioni stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ciccio Antognoni's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Adriano Scotti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Alessandro Lucantoni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Achille De Lorenzi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alberto Orecchioni. S.S. FABRIBEST's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Achille De Lorenzi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Alberto Orecchioni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Achille De Lorenzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Achille De Lorenzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Alberto Orecchioni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faenza's Achille De Lorenzi got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 29 minutes into the game, Achille De Lorenzi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Alberto Orecchioni was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Achille De Lorenzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the S.S. FABRIBEST defense, Ciccio Antognoni kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alberto Orecchioni. The S.S. FABRIBEST fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alberto Orecchioni should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Faenza's Cristiano Castellini got a free kick in the 40th minute. Carter Di Dio's late challenge caught a S.S. FABRIBEST's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carter Di Dio helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of S.S. FABRIBEST booed when Faenza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carter Di Dio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Cristiano Castellini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Faenza were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adriano Scotti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ciccio Antognoni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Orecchioni having to interfere. Ercole Alberico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Alessandro Lucantoni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 minutes, Claudio Rosi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.S. FABRIBEST and the Faenza players grew even worse after the yellow card. Claudio Rosi hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. After having played for 83 minutes, Ciccio Antognoni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Faenza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciccio Antognoni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of S.S. FABRIBEST booed when Faenza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Castellini didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Scotti in the 94th minute of play forced Faenza's goalkeeper Alessandro Lucantoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 minutes of play Faenza's Carter Di Dio was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Faenza getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Carter Di Dio hit a great ball. Faenza's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
