After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Fabio Bianchini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poiano AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabio Bianchini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelio Manzoni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18thth minute of the game Fabio Bianchini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Monte San Giovanni's Aurelio Manzoni was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Corvo in the 21st minute of play forced Monte San Giovanni's goalkeeper Aurelio Manzoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aurelio Manzoni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Bianchini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ferruccio Di Prinzio's late challenge caught a Poiano AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ferruccio Di Prinzio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th match minute, Monte San Giovanni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferruccio Di Prinzio to maneuver through the defense. Aurelio Manzoni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Corvo in the 29th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Fabio Bianchini sped through Monte San Giovanni's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Aurelio Manzoni. Carmine Ubriaco took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aurelio Manzoni. Monte San Giovanni's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Monte San Giovanni's Aurelio Manzoni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Bianchini in the 46th minute of play.

The wind increased when Fabio Bianchini made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Poiano AFC's Dave Corvo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aurelio Manzoni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Monte San Giovanni's zone, Fabio Bianchini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Manzoni came out of the goal and Fabio Bianchini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 57th minute, Dave Corvo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Poiano AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Poiano AFC's Dave Corvo got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Fabio Bianchini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aurelio Manzoni showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabio Bianchini in the 76th minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Monte San Giovanni's goal looked a bit too open when Fabio Bianchini came free, but Aurelio Manzoni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Monte San Giovanni booed when Poiano AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Scandella didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Monte San Giovanni's Biagio Buonanno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Florian Burgnich made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. In the 96th minute, Dave Corvo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Aurelio Manzoni, passed just outside the right post. The Monte San Giovanni fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Poiano AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
