When Attilio Pazienza fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marcellise's protests and gave Attilio Pazienza a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th minute, one of Marcellise:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Marcellise. Comunardo Marsili fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camillo Di Placido having to interfere. Camillo Di Placido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Comunardo Marsili in the 25th minute of the match. The long shot by Ciro Cacciatore in the 35th minute really tested Anselmo Bani's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Anselmo Chiola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Bani having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Comunardo Marsili shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camillo Di Placido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Comunardo Marsili was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Marcellise's zone, Angelo Boninsegna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anselmo Bani came out of the goal and Angelo Boninsegna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anselmo Chiola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Comunardo Marsili fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Camillo Di Placido having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Enzo Odisio made a precise shot to the right of Camillo Di Placido. Mortaiolo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. 83 minutes into the match, Mortaiolo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Comunardo Marsili came free, but Camillo Di Placido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Marcellise's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Boninsegna came free, but Anselmo Bani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelo Boninsegna in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anselmo Bani prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Anselmo Chiola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mortaiolo FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
