After having played for 13 minutes, Ernesto Marchegiani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rupingrande's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernesto Marchegiani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pozzi AFC's Anselmo Burelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Marchegiani in the 15th minute of play. Ernesto Marchegiani might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anselmo Burelli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ernesto Marchegiani ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 20th minute, Ernesto Marchegiani made a precise shot to the right of Anselmo Burelli. Pozzi AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 25 minutes into the match, Anfilogino Di Lullo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Carlo De Iuliis, 1-1. Rupingrande's Ernesto Marchegiani got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rupingrande's Carlo De Iuliis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anfilogino Di Lullo in the 41st minute of play. Ernesto Marchegiani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Anselmo Burelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernesto Marchegiani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ernesto Marchegiani to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernesto Marchegiani got free with Anselmo Burelli in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
