In the 10th minute Davide Bulla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio De Tommasi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cesare Quercia might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emanuele Maccioni. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cesare Quercia ran back to his position shaking his head. Aurelio De Tommasi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davide Bulla, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Celle's Cesare Quercia got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cesare Quercia in the 23rd minute of play forced chievone's goalkeeper Emanuele Maccioni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alvise Moriggi during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Francesco Di Fabio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Emanuele Maccioni made a huge save. Camillo Basso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Francesco Di Fabio came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Celle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francesco Di Fabio couldn't finish the play. Cesare Quercia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francesco Di Fabio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuele Maccioni having to interfere. Emanuele Maccioni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Di Fabio in the 94th minute of play. After having played for 95 minutes, Francesco Di Fabio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Celle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francesco Di Fabio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
