In the 7thth minute of the game Comunardo Iachini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Passatore AFC's Beppe Latini was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Anfilogino Di Placido had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beppe Latini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Comunardo Iachini in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, Anfilogino Di Placido was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Salernitana FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Passatore AFC the free kick. In the 14th match minute, Salernitana FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anfilogino Di Placido to maneuver through the defense. Christian Di Blasio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Beppe Latini made a huge save. After having played for 21 minutes, Carter Nazzaro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Passatore AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carter Nazzaro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Passatore AFC's zone, Christian Di Blasio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beppe Latini came out of the goal and Christian Di Blasio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Domenico Cieri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Emilio Zarrella tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Passatore AFC's Carter Nazzaro got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Comunardo Iachini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Beppe Latini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Passatore AFC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Emilio Luciani hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, Comunardo Iachini had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Beppe Latini. Passatore AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Comunardo Iachini was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Domenico Cieri made the kick off in the second half. Salernitana FC's Anfilogino Di Placido got his second yellow card of the match in the 51st minute. The referee ordered Anfilogino Di Placido off the ground. In the 56th minute, Christian Di Blasio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Christian Di Blasio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flavio Giannetta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beppe Latini having to interfere. Passatore AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 72 minutes into the match, Salernitana FC's Biagio Nardi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Beppe Latini narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Beppe Latini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Di Blasio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
