When Dario Di Piazza in the 10th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Flavio Brambilla kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Thanks to some nice moves Dario Di Piazza could shoot a difficult shot in the 15th minute, which Flavio Brambilla however easily saved by the left post. In the 19th match minute, AC Milan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristoforo Fallito to maneuver through the defense. Flavio Brambilla made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Enrico Bottega sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, AC Milan's Augusto Di Paolo got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dario Di Piazza in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Flavio Brambilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 32 minutes, Dario Di Piazza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lion Irie F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Dario Di Piazza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ercole Furino received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Flavio Brambilla came out and tried to block the shot, but Ercole Furino slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 38th minute. If Dario Di Piazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amos Caneva made a kick off. Dario Di Piazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flavio Brambilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enrico Bottega went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Flavio Brambilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dario Di Piazza's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Cristoforo Fallito hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 62 minutes into the game, Dario Di Piazza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Flavio Brambilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Amos Caneva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Spinosa having to interfere. Camillo Alba's late challenge caught a AC Milan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camillo Alba helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th match minute, Lion Irie F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camillo Alba to maneuver through the defense. Bernardo Spinosa didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 73rd minute, which inside left pole to 4-1. In the 80th minute, Dario Di Piazza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Enrico Bottega recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute Dario Di Piazza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Brambilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 87 minutes, Dario Di Piazza made it 5-1 with a short kick to the right side. AC Milan's Flavio Brambilla tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 93 minutes into the match, AC Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Di Piazza came free, but Flavio Brambilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enrico Bottega received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Flavio Brambilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Davide Mangione fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Brambilla having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Lion Irie F.C. fully deserved thier win.
