Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Davide Consalvi started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd match minute, Marano AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Coletti to maneuver through the defense. When Nuno Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Sambatello fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. Marano AFC's Corrado Alfieri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Gonçalves in the 9th minute of play. Eraldo Piccinini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davide Consalvi in the 11th minute of play. In the 25th minute of the match Herbert Le Borgne shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Corrado Alfieri showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Cosimo Massaro could shoot a difficult shot in the 28th minute, which Eraldo Piccinini however easily saved by the left post. If Armando Schiacciacasse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Felice Ferraro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sambatello's supporters rose to their feet, but Felice Ferraro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Corrado Alfieri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eraldo Piccinini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davide Consalvi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the game, Cristoforo Mauro threw the ball into play from the sideline. Sambatello's Bruno Mazzetti quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 37 minutes into the game, Sambatello's Felice Ferraro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Corrado Alfieri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 42nd minute of the match Armin Lancia sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Corrado Alfieri skillfully saved the ball. If Filomeno Silvanito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 44thth minute of the game Felice Ferraro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marano AFC's Corrado Alfieri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Sambatello's Filomeno Silvanito sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Corrado Alfieri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felice Ferraro to make the kick off. Marano AFC's Davide Consalvi got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 53rd match minute, Marano AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Corrado Eboli to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cosimo Massaro in the 59th minute of play forced Sambatello's goalkeeper Eraldo Piccinini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Marano AFC's Corrado Alfieri got control of the ball when Felice Ferraro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eraldo Piccinini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davide Consalvi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eraldo Piccinini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosimo Massaro in the 68th minute of play. Eraldo Piccinini showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Cipriani, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Felice Ferraro struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Corrado Alfieri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sambatello. After a defensive mix-up in Sambatello's zone, Aurelio Cipriani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eraldo Piccinini came out of the goal and Aurelio Cipriani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Corrado Alfieri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felice Ferraro's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Filomeno Silvanito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Corrado Alfieri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sambatello's Nuno Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Corrado Alfieri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felice Ferraro, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Sambatello's Armando Schiacciacasse managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Domenico Brillante in the 87 minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Felice Ferraro managed to get in a good position for a shot.
