Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Anselmo Schiacciacasse started the match with the kick off. After 3 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pontecchio Marconi FC! Frank Bergamini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Fasciani having to interfere. In the 9th minute, one of Nottingham Fornas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nottingham Fornas. Dave Verna walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Angelo Fasciani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arrigo Calabrese in the 21st minute of the match. Pontecchio Marconi FC's Enrico Cirulli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Schiacciacasse in the 26th minute of play. Frank Bergamini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Angelo Fasciani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Felice Scirea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Angelo Fasciani managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when Pontecchio Marconi FC's Frank Bergamini fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 47 minutes into the match, Nottingham Fornas's goalkeeper Angelo Fasciani had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Bergamini. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arrigo Calabrese to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Nottingham Fornas's Bianco Palermo got a free kick in the 51st minute. When Anselmo Schiacciacasse came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Nottingham Fornas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo Schiacciacasse couldn't finish the play. If Frank Bergamini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 minutes of play, Pontecchio Marconi FC's Arrigo Calabrese made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelo Fasciani was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amedeo Giampietro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anselmo Schiacciacasse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, Anselmo Schiacciacasse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Enrico Cirulli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Schiacciacasse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angelo Fasciani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arrigo Calabrese went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Frank Bergamini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 97th match minute, Pontecchio Marconi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Russo to maneuver through the defense. Pontecchio Marconi FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
