After having played for 5 minutes, Elia Spano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gallarate FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elia Spano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Antonio Biondi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Nobili, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After 10 played minutes Gallarate FC got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Cipollini. Biagio Tamburrini charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Biagio Tamburrini the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gallarate FC's Arturo Nobili got a free kick in the 18th minute. Arturo Nobili recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elia Spano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Biondi having to interfere. Antonio Ronconi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Diego Masciarelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eraldo Alfonsi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Eraldo Alfonsi in the 37th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Diego Masciarelli kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. After 41 minutes, Attilio Fallito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caramagnetta AFC and the Gallarate FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st minute, Attilio Fallito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Eraldo Alfonsi came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Caramagnetta AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eraldo Alfonsi couldn't finish the play. With his leg Diego Masciarelli managed to avoid a goal in the 48thth minute, when Caramagnetta AFC's Antonio Ronconi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eraldo Alfonsi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Caramagnetta AFC's Antonio Biondi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Caramagnetta AFC from getting a goal against them. When Cosimo Di Monte fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caramagnetta AFC's protests and gave Cosimo Di Monte a yellow card for diving instead. Cosimo Di Monte kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Arturo Nobili struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Antonio Biondi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gallarate FC. Antonio Ronconi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Masciarelli having to interfere. Ercole Campo hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Caramagnetta AFC's Antonio Biondi got control of the ball when Elia Spano tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Antonio Ronconi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Gallarate FC's zone, Eraldo Alfonsi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Masciarelli came out of the goal and Eraldo Alfonsi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elia Spano got free with Antonio Biondi in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eraldo Alfonsi in the 81st minute of play forced Gallarate FC's goalkeeper Diego Masciarelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
