Ercole Caneva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Dorigatti, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Ercole Caneva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Antognoni in the 23rd minute of the match. Cesare Colecchia charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cesare Colecchia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Valenzano AFC booed when Para was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesare Colecchia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ercole Caneva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Dorigatti, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Frank Antognoni sped through Para's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ercole Caneva. After a defensive mix-up in Valenzano AFC's zone, Carmine Cannata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberigo Borgatello came out of the goal and Carmine Cannata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Valenzano AFC getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Antonio Morini hit a great ball. In the 44th minute Aurelio Dorigatti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ercole Caneva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Para players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Valenzano AFC were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dennis Garibaldi to make the kick off. Antonio Morini's late challenge caught a Para's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antonio Morini helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd match minute, Valenzano AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Morini to maneuver through the defense. Dennis Garibaldi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aurelio Dorigatti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ercole Caneva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Para's goalkeeper Ercole Caneva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Antognoni. If Frank Antognoni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Antognoni who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Ercole Caneva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alessio Teti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dennis Garibaldi in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alberigo Borgatello prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Valenzano AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
