Beppe De Filippo made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Carter Ramundo sent off a good shot on target. In the 16th minute, Antonio Panella hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Bulgaria booed when FGI COMUN NUOVO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Panella didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 minutes FGI COMUN NUOVO's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Concetto Di Falco who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Concetto Di Falco almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FGI COMUN NUOVO's Dave Di Pasquale did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in FGI COMUN NUOVO's zone, Armando Rigoni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dave Di Pasquale came out of the goal and Armando Rigoni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anfilogino Bosso scored 0-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dave Di Pasquale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind FGI COMUN NUOVO's goalkeeper Dave Di Pasquale, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, FGI COMUN NUOVO's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Rigoni came free, but Dave Di Pasquale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bulgaria's Beppe De Filippo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Bulgaria from getting a goal against them. Fausto Di Palma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beppe De Filippo having to interfere. Carter Ramundo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The corner led FGI COMUN NUOVO's Domenico Bobbio to fire away a dangerous shot which Beppe De Filippo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Dave Di Pasquale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anfilogino Bosso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute of the match Carmine Prosperi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dave Di Pasquale skillfully saved the ball. Filippo Nola kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Dave Di Pasquale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Rigoni in the 82nd minute of the match. Armando Rigoni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Dave Di Pasquale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anfilogino Bosso hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 94 minutes into the game, when Fausto De Michele put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bulgaria eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
