Emilio Rullos short, quick shot in the 3rdth minute got Franco Ferrini to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Augusto Visintin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franco Ferrini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Dream Team's Franco Ferrini proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Dream Team from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Emilio Rullo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Acquasanta's supporters rose to their feet, but Emilio Rullo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Franco Ferrini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Acquasanta's Diego Cavaliere played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fortunato Sergi in the 21st minute of play. If Fortunato Sergi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alexander Censi took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Diego Cavaliere. Diego Cavaliere dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When Fortunato Sergi got free in front of the goal in the 31st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Diego Cavaliere was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Alexander Censi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diego Cavaliere read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Franco Ferrini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emilio Rullo in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the game, Alexander Censi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Diego Cavaliere was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fortunato Sergi was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Dream Team's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Visintin came free, but Franco Ferrini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diego Cavaliere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fortunato Sergi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilio Rullo in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Franco Ferrini saved Dream Team from getting behind. After having played for 60 minutes, Emilio Rullo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acquasanta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emilio Rullo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Diego Cavaliere showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fortunato Sergi, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Acquasanta's zone, Fortunato Sergi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Cavaliere came out of the goal and Fortunato Sergi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dream Team's Franco Ferrini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Visintin in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the game, Arrigo Tornese was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dream Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Acquasanta the free kick. A collision led to Dream Team getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Arrigo Tornese hit a great ball. Franco Ferrini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Rullo in the 78th minute of play. If Emilio Rullo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Augusto Visintin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emilio Rullo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franco Ferrini having to interfere. The Dream Team supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Dream Team would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
