In the 9thth minute of the game Fausto Marongiu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fogarole FC's Alberto Masetti was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alberto Masetti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Marongiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. If Fausto Marongiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Fogarole FC's zone, Fausto Marongiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Masetti came out of the goal and Fausto Marongiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of STEAU BUCAREST booed when Fogarole FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonello Troiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Fogarole FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bianco Di Marco came free, but Alberto Masetti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Masetti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bianco Di Marco in the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Fogarole FC's Adriano Di Girolamo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aldo Giardino. Aldo Giardino yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Alberto Masetti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bianco Di Marco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aldo Giardino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anthony Foddis's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind STEAU BUCAREST's goalkeeper Aldo Giardino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Fausto Marongiu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alberto Masetti was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fausto Marongiu made a kick off. Aldo Giardino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adriano Di Girolamo's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Adriano Di Girolamo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aldo Giardino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th match minute, STEAU BUCAREST was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Marongiu to maneuver through the defense. 63 minutes into the match, STEAU BUCAREST's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Di Girolamo came free, but Aldo Giardino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anthony Foddis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Giardino having to interfere. In the 68thth minute of the game Anthony Foddis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but STEAU BUCAREST's Aldo Giardino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antonello Troiano during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee ignored STEAU BUCAREST's protests and gave Felice Massimi a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, Fogarole FC's Alberto Masetti got control of the ball when Bianco Di Marco tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Fogarole FC booed when STEAU BUCAREST was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felice Massimi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fogarole FC's Anthony Foddis got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Fogarole FC had won after a very even match.
