Through an outstanding action, after 17 minutes, Carter Faccio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 22 minutes into the game, Achille Fata was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carpi F.C.1909's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave San Varano the free kick. Amerigo Facchini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armin Malatesta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alessio Gianfrancesco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carter Faccio having to interfere. Alessio Gianfrancesco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Carter Faccio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carpi F.C.1909's Carter Faccio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessio Gianfrancesco in the 33rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Emiliano Proietti managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Varano's supporters rose to their feet, but Emiliano Proietti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carter Faccio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Alessio Gianfrancesco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emiliano Proietti struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Carter Faccio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Varano. Alessio Gianfrancesco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carter Faccio having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Alessio Gianfrancesco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carter Faccio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alessio Gianfrancesco's shot from short distance in the 48th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alessio Gianfrancesco to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Alexander Colella managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carpi F.C.1909's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Colella was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 54 minutes into the match, San Varano's goalkeeper Amerigo Facchini had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Armin Malatesta. The supporters of Carpi F.C.1909 booed when San Varano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Biagio Luongo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th match minute, San Varano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Biagio Luongo to maneuver through the defense. Daniele Petruzzi, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After having played for 62 minutes, Achille Fata managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carpi F.C.1909's supporters crossed their fingers, but Achille Fata was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd minute, Carpi F.C.1909's Achille Fata ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amerigo Facchini. Amerigo Facchini yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. If Achille Fata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Amerigo Facchini managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Carpi F.C.1909's Armin Malatesta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armin Malatesta got free with Amerigo Facchini in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Carpi F.C.1909 eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
