If Damiano Sforza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 5th match minute, Malcontenta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberigo Egidi to maneuver through the defense. Domenico Taddeo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredo Delle Donne's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. The supporters of Racing di Potenza booed when Malcontenta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Vitale didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alfredo Delle Donne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferdinando Spano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Rossini in the 13th minute of the match. Domenico Taddeo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damiano Sforza, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. If Cesare Berardini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ferdinando Spano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Rossini's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute, Damiano Sforza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Racing di Potenza fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 32nd minute of the match, Frank Rossini tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ferdinando Spano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Racing di Potenza's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alberigo Egidi was slow to take the kick. During this time Malcontenta FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Malcontenta FC's Alberigo Egidi to fire away a dangerous shot which Ferdinando Spano despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Racing di Potenza's Ferdinando Liberti got a free kick in the 35th minute. Cesare Berardini scored 1-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ferdinando Spano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Rossini stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Alfredo Delle Donne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ferdinando Spano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Rossini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Racing di Potenza booed when Malcontenta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesare Berardini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damiano Sforza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domenico Taddeo having to interfere. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Malcontenta FC's goalkeeper Domenico Taddeo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Frank Rossini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malcontenta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Rossini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ferdinando Spano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frank Rossini took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ferdinando Spano. Ferdinando Spano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After 80 minutes, Ferdinando Liberti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Racing di Potenza and the Malcontenta FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ferdinando Liberti hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Rossini in the 83rd minute of play forced Racing di Potenza's goalkeeper Ferdinando Spano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domenico Taddeo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Delle Donne in the 92nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Racing di Potenza's zone, Cesare Berardini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ferdinando Spano came out of the goal and Cesare Berardini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Damiano Mastrocola's late challenge caught a Malcontenta FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Damiano Mastrocola helped the player get up and apologised. Alberigo Egidi shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Malcontenta FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
