The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 played minutes Colonica got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Pantalone. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Corrado Pozzoli made a kick off. An unexpected shot in the 53rd minute by Anthony Biscotti got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 54 played minutes Colonica got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Pantalone. In the 62nd minute, Anselmo Sciotto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Colonica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. If Corrado Pozzoli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. A hard shot by Marc Puccio from long distance, 87 minutes into the match, got Cristiano Sergi's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.
