After 14 minutes, Alfonso Forlano made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Coste FC's Fortunato Santucci tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Arturo Limitone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antonio Ritacco's late challenge caught a Cassino Di Sotto FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antonio Ritacco helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cassino Di Sotto FC booed when Coste FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Ritacco didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edoardo Passerini got free with Fortunato Santucci in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 27 minutes into the match, Franco Ubriaco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aurelio Borel. Cassino Di Sotto FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Franco Ubriaco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Coste FC's Fortunato Santucci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Forlano in the 30th minute of play. If Edoardo Passerini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfonso Forlano to make the kick off. Cassino Di Sotto FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfonso Forlano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Coste FC's zone, Alfonso Forlano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fortunato Santucci came out of the goal and Alfonso Forlano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arturo Limitone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Aurelio Borel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diego Egger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Borel having to interfere. In the 67th minute Edoardo Passerini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Santucci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfonso Forlano in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fortunato Santucci saved Coste FC from getting behind. Edoardo Passerini struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Fortunato Santucci didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cassino Di Sotto FC. Fortunato Santucci stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfonso Forlano's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Fortunato Santucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Forlano in the 74th minute of play. In the 78th match minute, Cassino Di Sotto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bianco Ottavi to maneuver through the defense. Alfonso Forlano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diego Egger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurelio Borel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. When Arturo Limitone came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Coste FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Limitone couldn't finish the play. Cassino Di Sotto FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
