After having played for 6 minutes, Carter Fontanive managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zerman's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carter Fontanive was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eugenio Di Michele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Di Palma, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Eugenio Di Michele made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Di Palma in the 14th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Zerman's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Di Palma came free, but Eugenio Di Michele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antonello Baresi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eugenio Di Michele stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antonello Baresi's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute, Cosimo Facchetti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfonso Di Palma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Di Michele having to interfere. Antonello Baresi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eugenio Di Michele having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Carlo Franceschini managed to get in a good position for a shot. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carter Fontanive to make the kick off. Alfonso Di Palma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Casciago FC's Fortunato Pezzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carter Fontanive in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Casciago FC's Fedele Milani got a free kick in the 56th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Antonello Baresi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Casciago FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Antonello Baresi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eugenio Di Michele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfonso Di Palma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Di Michele having to interfere. Antonello Baresi took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eugenio Di Michele. Eugenio Di Michele dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Antonello Baresi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alfonso Di Palma came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Casciago FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso Di Palma couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Antonello Baresi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
