With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eugenio Barberio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dino Mazzocchetti took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eugenio Barberio. Eugenio Barberio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After having played for 24 minutes, Dino Mazzocchetti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chiavari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino Mazzocchetti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Bontempi in the 26th minute of play forced Vittoria FC's goalkeeper Eugenio Barberio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th match minute, Vittoria FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Berardini to maneuver through the defense. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.
